Coimbatore: Inspection and confiscation of autos at important parts in the city were carried out under the orders of the Transport Officer. To deal with various complaints received from the public, under the orders of the District Collector and the Coimbatore Region Deputy Transport Commissioner, an inspection was carried out under the head of the Zonal Transport Officer, J K Bhaskaran and Zonal Transport Officer of Coimbatore North, South and West.

Automobile inspectors and city traffic police inspected various points in the city from 3 pm in the afternoon to 8 pm. A special inspection was carried out on the autos parked in Gandhipuram, and at the front and rear of the railway station.
231 autos were inspected out of which 47 autos were given notices and 37 autos without FC, permit, drivers without licence and autos overloading passengers were confiscated. Rs. 4500 fine was levied on 10 autos. Transport officials warned that inspections will continue in the future.
