The southwest monsoon rains which intensified last Friday in various parts of the Nilgiris district continued unabated for the sixth consecutive day. Due to the incessant rains, streams and canals have flooded in many areas.
Due to the heavy rains, normal routine of townsfolk has been affected and business has been thrown out of gear.
Traffic was also disrupted when a tree fell on the Gudalur- O' Valley road. The Nilgiris district recorded 40 cm rain in the past 24 hours.
