Coimbatore: As a part of the recent clampdown on illegal sale of lotteries, the District police arrested 13 people in Annur on Tuesday.
Based on a tip-off, a team led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Sujit Kumar raided several areas in and around Annur and arrested 13 people for dealing with illegal lottery sales.

The arrest was made at a welding warehouse located behind Sellampalayam bus stand on Annur – Puliyampatti road.
During the raid three portable printers were confiscated using which No:3 lotteries were printed, the police said.
Cases were filed against 18 people under the Lottery Regulation Act and 13 people including Duraisamy, Jeeva, Ramesh, Naveen, Senthil, Senthil Kumar, Vellingiri, Palanisamy, Velusamy, Dharman, Arul Prakasam, Ponraj, Maria Louis were arrested.

Police are on the lookout for five others - Sundarajan, Saminathan, Hari, Prabh and Gajendran who are reported to have escaped.
Among the items seized were three portable printers, 22 Andriod phones, a four-wheeler and Rs. 1,09,609 of cash.
The SP has warned of stringent action on those who involve in illegal lottery sale.
