Coimbatore: The CPI (M) staged protests in various places including Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, Sulur and Pollachi against the decisions of the Centre in presenting Emergency Bills in the Parliament in a stand alone manner.
The protests in Coimbatore took place at the South Zonal Office and was led by the District Secretary Ramamoorthy. They raised slogans against the BJP government and condemned the decisions taken by the BJP-led Government. While addressing the media, Ramamoorthy said, “India is a united nation with 554 constituencies and just because BJP has a majority, it does not mean they can take their own decisions like the Amendment of the Motor Vehicle Act and scrapping of the Article 370, which takes away the rights of the Kashmiri people with no notice or consult.”
