The sacrifice and bravery of the Fire and Rescue Services personnel is making headlines on social networks over the past few days in Tamil Nadu.
In a remarkable act of bravery the Fire service personnel from Tiruchengodu division on Saturday saved the life of father and son duo from getting washed away in the Cauvery as a large number of people thronged the river for a bath and to perform rituals on the auspicious day of Aadi 18.
This incident which went viral on social media caught the public imagination.

Similarly, Annamalai (19) from Idukkupallam who had gone to urinate near the well owned by Mani when he slipped and fell inside the well.

The onlookers informed the Fire service and the Karunya Nagar police station. Based on the orders of District Fine Officer Balasubramanian, a team of nine Firemen led by Station Officer Ravi Chandran including Jeeva and Sridhar rushed the spot and rescued Annamalai in a two hour-long operation.
Annamalai was then admitted to CMCH by the firefighters for first aid and medical treatment.
