Coimbatore: The members of the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Cotton City raised awareness on following traffic rules, no honking and to avoid plastic bags.
The members of the club gathered at Uzhavar Sandai in RS Puram early in the morning and spoke to people who came for the market raising awareness on no honking, follow traffic rules and to avoid plastic bags usage. Awareness on the ill effects of plastics and honking were discussed.
Jute bags were distributed to the people who came to the market and were educated on the harmful effects of plastic bag usage.
They then stuck "no horn" stickers in cars and bikes. The awareness program took place from 7.30 am to 9.30 am. President of the club Rakesh Kumar Ranka, Chairman Rtn Sandeep Jain and other cotton city members were present in the awareness campaign.
