Akram Mohammed (33) from Karuvadankunnu from Malappuram district in Kerala along with his friends Deepu (30) Sameer (33), was proceeding to Ooty when the mishap occurred.
Akram Mohammed who was at the wheel lost control of the vehicle when it reached Nadugudalur. The car skidded off the road and plunged into the gorge. While Akram Mohammed died on the spot, Deepu and Sameer were rescued and admitted to Gudalur Government hospital.
Gudalur police recovered the body of Akram Mohammed and are investigating.
