Minister of School Education, Sports and Youth Welfare K.A Sengottaiyan and Minister of Animal Husbandry Udumalai K, Radhakrishnan jointly lit the lamp and participated in the inauguration function of the Corporation Middle School built with private participation in Rayapuram, Tirupur.
He said that even during the rule of Late CM Jayalalithaa, AIADMK has been striving to exempt NEET from Tamil Nadu. The education Minister noted that "Despite a huge sum of around Rs. 28,000 crores allotted towards school education, there is much to accomplish. A fund of Rs. 102 crores has been received from private organisations."
When questioned on water scarcity prevailing in government-run educational institutions in the State, the Minister instantly denied and asserted that there is no water crisis in Government schools.
He also warned that private educational institutions who fail to adhere to the rules laid by the State educational department will be taken to task.
The Minister agreed to the delay in textbook distribution at all government schools. He assured that the problem is being addressed on priority.
With meticulous planning, Tamil Nadu will continue to stay on top in the education sector, the Minister opined.
He also clarified that "According to NEET results, 85% of the seats of a medical college in a particular state are allocated to the students of that state and students from other states can pursue medicine in that state, only if they score high marks".
