Coimbatore: SDPI staged a demonstration in front of the South Regional Office premises in Coimbatore demanding cancellation of the Nuclear reactor, Methane, Hetro Carbon and 8-lane projects.
Over 50 members participated in the protest led by the Coimbatore District Leader of SDPI, Raja. They claimed that most of the projects implemented by the Central Government in Tamil Nadu are affecting the common man and his livelihood.
They urged that discrimination over accepting people's demands, state-to-state should not be allowed. The protestors felt that destruction of a State from such projects can be stopped only if people fight for it and hence SDPI demands immediate suspension of such plans.
