Coimbatore : The parents of Krithiga, Kala and Balan (names changed) studying in Corporation primary school in Saravanampatti staged an agitation in front of the school on Wednesday seeking action on the headmistress for hurling casteist slurs on their kids at school.
Raja and Mohan (names changed), parents of the kids were shocked to hear from their kids of the verbal abuses and casteist slurs hurled on them by headmistress Jayanthi of the Corporation primary school functioning at Kandasamy Nagar at Karatumedu near Saravanampatti here.

Angered by her behaviour, the parents staged an agitation in front of the school today demanding legal action on the headmistress.
Speaking on the issue, the parents alleged that the disgustful behaviour of the headmistress has led to many students leave the school and join other nearby schools. Her violent behaviour and talking to students in derogatory words has been causing mental stress to the students.
"While school is believed to be a place fostering moral values, such behaviour by the headmistress will prove detrimental to the students. She has been hurling casteist slurs on students and abusing them", they noted.
"If any girl student vomits out of indigestion in the class, the headmistress asks the student, if she is pregnant", lamented the parents who seek stringent action on her.
The parents have reported to have filed a complaint with the Saravanampatti police and the chief educational officer.
