Pratheep and his friend were blocked by nine youth in 3 two-wheelers in front of the CSI Church in Ganapathy. The gang attempted to hack Pratheep and his friend to death but both Pratheep and his friend were taken to hospital by passers-by.
Based on the complaint, eight youth among the nine which includes Manikandan, Vellai Satheesh, Soorya, Jagadeesh, Rajesh Janna, Hari, Office Hariharan and Dhanapal were arrested. The eight youth have been put behind bars in the city's Central Prison, charged under the Goondas Act for attempt to murder and traumatizing the public.
