Update: Injured youngster in Karamadai truck accident dies at Coimbatore GH

Coimbatore: The speeding truck which caused back to back accidents in MTP on Saturday killed a government school teacher on the spot and injured a youngster. The injured who was undergoing treatment at Coumbatore Governement Hospital died today.

Coimbatore: The speeding truck which caused back to back accidents in MTP on Saturday killed a government school teacher on the spot and injured a youngster. The injured who was undergoing treatment at Coimbatore Governement Hospital died today. 

The victim, Chandru (19), a resident of Thayanur, Karamadai, near MTP works as an employee in a petrol bunk in Marudhur area. 



On Saturday, Chnadru was on his way home after work towards Karamadai in his two-wheeler. While he was approaching Vijayanagaram, a freight vehicle rammed on the two-wheeler and fled. 

Though the public chased the speeding truck, the driver escaped the sight. The public rescued Chandru and took him to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. It is to be recalled that the freight truck later rammed into another two-wheeler at Thekampatti village killing a government school teacher on the spot. 

In this scenario, Chandru who was under treatment succumbed to his injuries this morning. The reckless driver of the freight vehicle, Kumar, resident of Mookanur village, is also admitted in the hospital with severe injuries. 

The Karamadai police have registered a complaint.
