Coimbatore: Condemning the attack on junior doctors in Kolata in the hospital premises, private hospitals in the city have announced that their strike will continue tomorrow too.
However, emergency cases will be handled as usual. Medical students and doctors in the city staged a protest at the Coimbatore Government Hospital, today, wearing black badges. A protest was also held at the Indian Medical Association office premises on Brooke Bond Road, while doctors in Tirupur district staged a dharna in front of the Tirupur Railway station, today.
Condemning the incident where Junior doctor Paribaha Mukhopadhyay and Yash Tekwani were beaten up at the NRS Medical College in Kolkata, protests spread across the medical fraternity in West Bengal and gradually, all over the country.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had warned doctors to resume services or face stern action. Doctors from all over the country are on strike today against the violence on the doctors who were attacked by the enraged family of a patient, who died on June 10.
