Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Farmers Association filed a petition with the District Collector K Rajamani demanding action against a private company for using borewell water indiscriminately which they claimed had led to water scarcity in the area.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Farmers Association filed a petition with the District Collector K Rajamani demanding action against a private company for using borewell water indiscriminately which they claimed had led to water scarcity in the area.
The petition was filed against the company located at Andakkapalayam, Vellanaipatti, Annur Taluk which allegedly on the pretext of purifying drinking water was actually using a borewell for water.

The farmers also claimed that this has affected around 200 acres of farmland and also people and cattle. They highlighted the fact that even after petitioning, no action was taken against the company. The farmers demanded strict action against the company.
