Coimbatore : In a tragic accident, a father and daughter were killed on the spot, while the mother and the son sustained severe injuries after their two-wheeler rammed head-on with a pick-up truck near Sirumugai on Sunday.
Coimbatore : In a tragic accident, a father and daughter were killed on the spot, while the mother and the son sustained severe injuries after their two-wheeler rammed head-on with a pick-up truck near Sirumugai on Sunday.
A family of four, Venkatesh(42), Sowmiya(26) and their children Kousika(7) and Nithin(9) were on their way to their home in Thimmarayampalayam after attending a wedding in Mettupalayam. This evening, when their two-wheeler reached Thaneer Thidam in Alankombu, their two-wheeler collided head on with a pick up carrying banana load to MTP.
All the four from the two-wheeler were thrown out of the vehicle. Venkatesh and his daughter Kousika died on the spot and Sowmiya and Nithin were rushed to a MTP government hospital.
The Sirumugai police have registered a case and are on the look out for the driver of the driver who absconded. The accident stirred the hearts of the onlookers, as a happy family was shattered within seconds.
