After strong criticism emerged from the people and political parties, the Southern Railways struck down the order dated June 12, giving just two language as options to communicate between those who are involved in communicating with the station masters and control offices.
DMK condemned the order and said that it was another tactical way to impose Hindi. The widespread uproar in social media and political parties has forced revoke the orders.

The order comes after a collision between two trains was averted following a misunderstanding among officials speaking their regional languages.
