The action was taken based on various complaints raised against these shops by different sections of society since they have been affecting transportation and causing many difficulties when tourists throng the spot during the tourist seasons.
Hence, a team led by the Assistant Director of Highways Department, Parijatham and Assistant Superintendent of Police, Krishnamurthi removed all the small shops in the area.
