Coimbatore: Application for admission into ITI courses for the August 2019 batch had already begun from May 3rd, both through online and offline at the Centres.
The applications will be accepted only until June 15, 2019. In this regard, a press release by the Government Technical Training Department was released which also stated that the special ITI Centre for SC/ST students in Anaikatti has been temporarily shifted to the Government ITI Centre in Mettupalayam.
The press release also stated that students who are unable to apply online can visit the Centre with the required documents and enroll themselves for the August 2019 batch. The ITI training admits both men and women, with the age eligibility for men being 14-40, and with no age bar for women. Students can apply online on www.skilltraining.gov.in.
Courses like Fitter, Electrician, MMV, Wireman are being taught absolutely free of cost. The additional benefits include free bus pass, uniforms, laptops and all the required tools for the course. The students will also be provided with a stipend of Rs. 500, every month. On completion of the course, students will be recruited by various private companies through a campus selection process.
