On behalf of the Tirupur District Industrial Department, World Day Against Child Labour was observed at the Tirupur District Collectorate in which District Collector Palanisamy presided over the meeting. The school students who were rescued from child labour, office bearers from Child Line Organisation and Child Protection Organisation took part in the conference.
A pledge was taken to eliminate Child Labour System and officials at the Collectorate promised to provide education to all children. Meanwhile, students who were rescued from child labour and scored good marks in their Class 12 Board exams were granted financial aid for their college education.
