She is the third generation of bead work artist. Daksha has been taught this craft was from a very young age. She is practising it at least for past 20 years. She specialises in torans ( intricate door hangings) and jewellery. Her designs are varied and eye catching.
The Crafts Council of TamilNadu ( based in Coimbatore) has invited this talented artisan for the first time to our city to teach her craft. She was in Coimbatore last year for the CCTN annual crafts bazaar. To learn a craft from such a talented craftsperson is a wonderful opportunity. Not only does it help to keep the craft alive but also creates self employment opportunities for those looking to work from their homes.
