Coimbatore : Aarthi (38) who resides in Kurudampatti near Thoppampatti in Coimbatore had been married to Arun Jude from Chennai for the past 11 years. The couple had filed for divorce in a Mumbai court and withdrew later. The couple then moved to Coimbatore and lived here thereon.

The couple along with Arun's family reportedly travelled to Ooty for a vacation. Due to misunderstanding between the couple again, Arun is said to have assaulted Aarthi following which a complaint was registered at the Ooty police station. Following a compromise, they returned to Coimbatore.
On May 9, while traveling in a car with Arun and his family, the couple reportedly had an argument again following which Aarthi was allegedly pushed out of the car. The footage of this incident which was recorded on CCTV went viral afterward. Aarthi was badly bruised in her knees and head. The Thudiyalur police have registered a complaint against Arun under 274/2019 us 294 b,323,506(1) and the Womens Rights Protection Act, after investigation. It is to be noted that no action had been taken on Arun Jude until now.
While talking to Simplicity, Aarthi who stays in Mumbai with her children said, "It is sad to see that no action has been taken even after registering a complaint with the police with solid proof. They seem to fail to understand that it is not a mere family issue but an issue of life and death for me and my children. I am living in very dangerous circumstances now."
