The police are now in the process of installing surveillance cameras across the city. As a step toward it, they installed 40 CCTV cameras in Jayavardhana Balu Nagar, Peelamedu.

The Commissioner of Police, Sumit Saran said that installation of CCTV cameras in the residential areas would provide safety to the residents as well as make it easy for the police to nab criminals. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Perumal, police officers and other residents participated in the event.

To control incidents such as violating traffic rules, murders, accidents and burglaries in the city, the police with the help of residential communities are in the process of installing CCTV cameras throughout the city.
