Riding triples on bike, youngsters meet with accident in Mettupalayam; one dead

Coimbatore: Three youngsters from Mettupalayam (MTP) who went on triples on a bike met with an accident on Sunday while trying to avoid banging on a parked car.


Coimbatore: Three youngsters from Mettupalayam (MTP) who went on triples on a bike met with an accident on Sunday while trying to avoid banging on a parked car. 

One youth, Senthil from New Extension Nagar, MTP died on the spot while two others sustained critical injuries. 

Senthil, Azaruddin and one other youngster from Mettupalayam were enroute to Sirumugai in their two-wheeler. None of the riders were wearing a helmet. While they reached near MTP's Sandha Kadai area their two wheeler banged on a bus from the opposite side. 

All the three were thrown out of their two wheeler. Senthil died on the spot while the other two were rushed to MTP government hospital. 



The public who witnessed the accident told that the two wheeler rider while trying to avoid banging on a car that was parked on the road side turned his vehicle and got hit by the sides of the bus. The youngster who died would have survived the crash had he worn a helmet.

The MTP police have booked a case and arrested the bus driver. The death of a youngster who was awaiting his graduation ceremony has caused immense grief among his family and friends.
