Compared to the last 5 months, the tea leaves have fetched just Rs. 95.32.per kg.
Last December 1, the tea traders association had stopped the production of tea leaves in the North. This saw increased prices for the Nilgiris Tea leaves.
Tea planters opine that as tea production in North has started, the Nilgiris market is seeing low prices this year.
