Tirupur: Tense moments prevailed in front of Thirumuruganpoondi police station in Tirupur here on Sunday, as a man removed his shirt and staged a half-naked agitation demanding the whereabouts of his brother who was arrested five days ago.
Dinakaran, a corporation contractor alleged that his brother Raja was arrested by a gang of six people who claimed to be police. His brother, Raja is alleged to be connected in a robbery incident at a garment company in Vaavipalayam in Tirupur, last month. Around Rs. 9.45 lakhs of goods and machinery are reported to have been stolen. A case has been registered and the police were on the lookout for the burglars. In this regard, the Police arrested Raja five days back.

The police had allegedly kept the whereabouts of Raja discreetly which raised suspicion and probed Dinakaran to lookout for his brother at all police stations in Tirupur.
Today morning, Dinakaran spotted his brother's car parked in front of Thirumuruganpoondi police station in Tirupur. He alleged that when enquired, the Inspector refused to reveal any information. Following which, Dinakaran removed his shirt and protested in front of the police station demanding information about his brother.
The police later called him in and compromised by giving the details of his arrested brother. For a brief time, the incident caused commotion in the area.
