Coimbatore : Acting on a tip-off, Sujith Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District, ordered to conduct a special investigation on illegal gambling in the city.
Inspector Thangam of Thondamuthur Police station held an investigation in their area and arrested 13 people while gambling in a farm house near Kembanur Road, Kozhipannai, Thondamuthur.
They were charged with Crime number 69/19 u/s 12 of Tamil Nadu Act and then put behind bars in the Coimbatore central jail.
The SP has warned people that strict action will be initiated against those who indulge in gambling.

1) K.R. Manikandan (72), S/o Ramasamy, Thaliyur, owner of the farm where gambling took place.
2) Manimurugan (30), Nathinapuri.
3) Soundaraj (58), S/o Venkatachalam, Kuppepalayam.
4) Sampath Kumar (41), S/o Balusamy, Kuppepalayam.
5) Muthusamy, S/o Palanisamy, Muthipalayam.
6) Perumal (50), S/o Sellakutti, Atukalla.
7)Babu (30), S/o of Kuppusamy, Muthipalayam.
8) Ravi (54), S/o Singanna Gounder, 20, Jeeve street, Sikarayaapuram.
9) Murugesan (39), S/o of Maran, 56 -B, Kulathupalayam, Santhaipettai.
10) Pradeesh( 34), S/o Velusamy, Vinayagar kovil street, Kembanur.
11) Ragupathi (59), S/o Duraisamy, Vandikaaranur.
