Coimbatore : In July last year, multiple bank accounts were robbed using skimmer devices in Coimbatore. The thousands of rupees that were stolen using this device had not been settled back to the customers which irked many of them.
Coimbatore : In July last year, multiple bank accounts were robbed using skimmer devices in Coimbatore. The thousands of rupees that were stolen using this device had not been settled back to the customers which irked many of them.
Rajesh from Rathinapuri owns a private company and Rs.80000 was stolen last year from his current account with United Bank. Frustrated with the bank for not settling the stolen money, he decided to protest inside the bank.
"I got an SMS stating withdrawal of 80,000 from my account on July 26, last year. I was shocked to see the message and immediately informed the police and the bank. The police traced that the withdrawal was made in an ATM in Mumbai. They asked me to enquire with the bank for reversal of the amount stolen. But even after several requests at the United Bank, there was no positive response. Hence, I decided to protest inside the bank until I get my cash back," said Rajesh. He protested inside the bank along with his employees causing confusion amidst the public.
