Coimbatore : The Food Safety Department of Coimbatore Corporation in association with The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy LTD (Coimbatore) organised a seminar on food safety, to commemorate the first-ever World Food Safety Day in the city.

The program was held in the seminar hall of The Ayurvedic Trust at Olympus, Ramanathapuram here on Friday.
V. Kamaraj, Food Safety Officer and his team members -- V.Subburaj, Thondamuthur Block, S. Veluchamy of Sulur Block and R. Maharajan of Singanallur area explained the methods to identify good food and raw materials. The officers also elucidated on the rules and regulations of labelling food products and techniques to check adulterants.
About 50 participants were part of the seminar which concluded with a pledge.
