Tirupur: Ridhushree, a student from Tirupur took her own life by hanging herself on the day of NEET results after she learned that she had secured low marks. Apart from Ridhushree, two other students from Tamil Nadu have also reportedly killed themselves.

The members of the Democratic Youth Union staged a protest in front of the Tirupur District Collectorate demanding compensation for the family of Ridhushree and also urged the TN Government to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET.
A tussle broke out between the police and the protestors after which the police arrested them. Traffic came to a halt for about 30 mins on Palladam Road owing to the protest.
