Arjunan (46) and Alamelu with their son Yogesh (13) reside in Sivanandhapuram near Saravanampatti. Arjunan has a tailor shop close to his home and his son studied Class 9 in a nearby school. On Wednesday, when Alamelu returned home at night she was shocked to find Arjunan and Yogesh dead.
The Saravanampatti police reached the spot on information and upon investigation found that Arjunan and Alamelu had several family issues. Owing to the constant stress, Arjunan decided to poison his son with cow dung powder before hanging the boy and himself.
