Coimbatore : The Minister for Municipal Administration, S P Velumani in response to a query by a media person after the review meeting at CCMC stated that the AIADMK's relationship with BJP is cordial and the alliance will continue for the local body elections too. The review meeting of various Government departments was held at CCMC today in which the Minister participated. Officials from CCMC, district administration, PWD, TWAD, Highways, Police and Health departments were present.

The review meeting of various Government departments was held at CCMC today in which the Minister participated. Officials from CCMC, district administration, PWD, TWAD, Highways, Police and Health departments were present.

S P Velumani said, "The meeting focused mainly on measures to combat water shortage in the Corporation, village and town Panchayats. 400 crores have already been allocated for laying new pipelines, repairing the existing lines which are leaking and for work related to the drinking water supply for the village panchayats. To manage water supply in town Panchayats and Corporation wards, necessary steps have been taken and water supply in lorries is also being done wherever there is water shortage.”

The Minister further said that enough precautionary measures are taken to prevent the spread of Nipah virus from Kerala. Regarding the flyovers, the Minister stated, "Tenders will be called for the Perianaickenpalayam flyover. Designs are ready for the extension of the Karumbukadai flyover till Aathupalam and on the other side from Ukkadam till Sungam is also ready. Also two ramps will be constructed at Gandhipuram flyover, on both sides.“
The District Collector K Rajamani, Corporation Commissioner J Sravan Kumar, City Police Commissioner Sumit Saran and various other department heads were present at the CCMC meeting.
