Coimbatore: In a shocking incident of reportedly blatant negligence and indifference by doctors during delivery resulting in the infant being in a critical condition, the parents have demanded strict action against the hospital.

Nithya, the mother of the infant stated that when she was admitted in the hospital for delivery, the nurses were doing the delivery procedures directly by taking orders through WhatsApp from the Chief Doctor Chandra. After the baby was born, the hospital management did not disclose the health of the baby. Nithya also claimed that the Ramanathapuram police had not yet taken any action even after complaining to them.

The Ramanathapuram police have now convinced the parents of the baby and relatives that they would probe the matter and conduct a thorough investigation once a written complaint is registered.

The Chief Doctor of Genesis Royal Infirmary, Chandra, while explaining about the incident dismissed the parent's accusation of treatment through WhatsApp and said that because the infant's condition being critical, the baby was shifted to KMCH for further treatment.
