Tamil Nadu tops the country distinguishing itself for uninterrupted education of students

Coimbatore: According to the Compulsory Education Act 2009, the promotion of students from Classes 1 to 8 are mandatory.

Coimbatore: According to the Compulsory Education Act 2009, the promotion of students from Classes 1 to 8 are mandatory. 

Though this Act has helped the country in its education initiatives to prevent school dropouts, many students from Class 9 to 12 discontinue their education when they fail exams thereafter or due to unavoidable circumstances int he family.

The Dinathanthi daily reported that an integrated district information system for education conducted a survey. At the end of this survey, Tamil Nadu has emerged first in India in preventing school dropouts. In Tamil Nadu, 86.2 percent of students complete their schooling, while in Himachal Pradesh it is 85.8 percent. Kerala and Maharashtra hold the third place with 85.6 percent.
