The Nilgiris: The first-ever fuel crematorium at the Wellington Cantonment area near Coonoor was inaugurated by the District Collector, Innocent Divya.
Cantonment Executive Officer, Harish Verma, army officials and the Rotary Club participated in the event.
To safeguard the environment, a fuel crematorium was constructed five years ago by the Rotary Club of the Nilgiris District. Steps were taken to renovate the crematorium.
Later, over 100 tree saplings were planted to keep the crematorium environment fresh and green.
