Textile manufacturers protest, stop production for 25 days

Tirupur: Due to the exports of waste cotton, the rate of the thread has increased whereas that of the gada cloth has declined.

Tirupur: Due to the exports of waste cotton, the rate of the thread has increased whereas that of the gada cloth has declined. 



This has caused a huge loss for textile manufacturers. In order to tide through the loss, the textile manufacturers are demanding to decrease the export of waste cottons and to increase the export of products like the gada cloth. In this context, textile manufacturers of Tirupur and Palladam are staging a protest from today by stopping production work for 25 days. 



This will affect the production of 25 million meters per day, affecting the trade of 10 rupees and also directly affecting 1 lakh workers and 50,000 workers indirectly.
