Coimbatore: Representing India, four riders of the Alexander Equestrian Club, Coimbatore showcased their skills and won prizes at the Show Jumping competition held at Barcelos, Portugal, from May 17 to 19.
Coimbatore: Representing India, four riders of the Alexander Equestrian Club, Coimbatore showcased their skills and won prizes at the Show Jumping competition held at Barcelos, Portugal, from May 17 to 19.
According to A S Sakthi Balaji, Managing Director, Equine Dreams who runs the Alexander Equestrian Club, as many as 320 horses from Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Brazil and India took part in the international event. The Indian team from the Alexander Equestrian Club under senior instructor Saravanan took part in various events.
On the first day, in the 110 M show jumping event Table C Rider Saravanan Kandasamy rode the horse named Subito Courcelle and secured third place. In the 80 M event, Table C Rider Ahil Rithivik rode the horse named Eufadis and also secured third place. On the second day, in the 80 cm event, Table C Rider Sabari Vikas rode the horse 'Instinct' and clinched the second position. In the 100 cm event, Ahil Rithvik rode the horse Eufadis and came in fourth. In the 100 cm event, Avanthika who rode the horse Urraca came in sixth.
"Equine Dreams which is located in the heart of Coimbatore city offers horse riding classes which includes pony rides too. Equine Dreams trains riders to participate in national and international shows, with many of them winning prizes and recognition at national and international competitions," says Sakthi Balaji.
