Clad in new uniforms, the students accompanied by parents welcomed the academic year with pomp and energy. After two months of summer holidays, all schools affiliated to the Tamil Nadu State government re-opened on June 3, on Monday.
Despite requests from several quarters, including parents, teachers and students to postpone the re-opening due to prevailing heat conditions, the State government denied the request and ordered to open the schools by June 3.
However in 2018, the Minister for School education, K. Sengottaiyan ordered to postpone the re-opening from June 3 to June 7 citing heat conditions in the State.
While re-opening of private schools vary, students studying in government schools began their academic year today with much hope and joy.
