The police have arrested Gowri Mohandoss for possessing such terrorist weapons in the house. The police received information that robbers were hiding in Pottalkalam village near Bodinaickenur. When they tried to enter the house, the burglars hiding in the house reportedly fled the spot but the police managed to arrest one person. The arrested person was identified as Gowri Mohandoss, who was the former District Secretary of the Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK). On questioning Gowri Mohandoss, the police found that more than 10 burglars had hid in the house while masterminding a mass robbery in various parts of Theni district.
A separate team of police under Bodi Sub-inspector, Selvaraj, interrogated Gowri Mohandoss. When the police searched the house, they found dangerous weapons like A.K 47, sten gun and barbed knives in five suitcases. They seized the dangerous weapons including AK 47 guns, sten gun, two air pistols, one country gun, barbed knives, swords, spears and more than 10 mobile phones from his house. They also seized temple tower domes and various idols, as well as the car that was used to transport these items. Police who examined the AK.47 guns found that they were dummy ones. The police have brought Gowri Mohandoss to the Bodi police station and commenced an inquiry. They have deployed a separate team in search of the burglars who had escaped.
