The Nilgiris: Two teenage boys on Thursday drowned while fishing at Ralliah dam in Coonoor.
According to police reports, five friends including Alex (17), Ragu (13) of the same area went for fishing at Ralliah dam in Coonoor yesterday. Alex and Ragu got into deep waters for fishing. Unexpectedly, Alex began to drown. On seeing this, Ragu who tried to help him too drowned.
Upon information, Coonoor fire service officials Mohan, Rajagopal and other firemen rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies and sent it to Coonoor government hospital.
One of the deceased, Alex is an engineering student of a private engineering college in Kethi.
A case has been registered by Aruvankadu police.
