M. Ramanathan, Ex DMK MP from Coimbatore passes away
Coimbatore: M. Ramanathan (84), Ex MP of Dravida Munnetra Kalagam (DMK) from Coimbatore passed away on Friday in the city.
Due to age-related ailments, he passed away on the wee hours of Friday at his home here. His final rites will be performed on Friday, say sources.
District DMK leaders and cadres have expressed grief over his death.
The 84-year-old ex MP from Coimbatore has held various positions in the party from 1959. He was the Coimbatore District President of DMK from 1992 - 96.
In the year 1984 and 1989, he was elected as the Member in the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Coimbatore West constituency. And, in 1996 he was elected as a member of Parliament from Coimbatore.
