High Court orders TN Home Secretary and Collector to reply to petition filed by mothers of two prime accused in Pollachi case

Coimbatore: Even as the mothers of Sabarirajan and Thirunavukarasu who were arrested under the Goondas Act in the Pollachi sexual abuse and extortion racket registered a case in the Chennai High Court, the High Court judge who heard the petition ordered the Tamil Nadu Home Secretary and Coimbatore District Collector to reply within four weeks and postponed the hearing to the first week of June.

The petition filed by the mothers states, “The Goondas Act rules are not properly followed in the case. Family members were not properly informed about the Goondas Act order. We request the Court to cancel the Goondas Act against our sons and release them, after producing them in the Court.”
