Coimbatore: Even as Mother’s Day is being celebrated all across the world on May 12, every year., Parenting Network, a Coimbatore-based NGO organized a press meet for Mother’s Day today at the Coimbatore Press club.

Addressing the media, the Director of Parenting Network, Aishwarya said, “We will be conducting a program called 'Heart in the Tummy 2' for pregnant women to have a peaceful and happy pregnancy and childbirth. Ruth Malik, the Founder, Parth India, Dr. Premalatha, a Gynecologist and Feminist doctor, Yafat Yasmin, a breastfeeding consultant, Priyanka Ithisula, Advisor for normal childbirth will participate in this program which is to be conducted in a private hotel. Various conversations on childbirth will be a part of this program.

Just because the first child was born through the Cesarean method, it is not a rule that the second also should be born thus. There is no proper awareness about this among people. This program is organized for mothers who have such doubts regarding childbirth and pregnancy. A five-member team of our organization is constantly providing consultations to ladies regarding any kind of pregnancy-related doubts."

"Newborn orphans in the GH are not getting sufficient breast milk due to lack of milk donation in the breast milk bank. During initial days, about three women donated milk, which increased in the later stages and now about 20-30 mothers are donating milk, but this is not sufficient for the newborn orphans. There is no proper awareness among people about this.

Also, the husbands who were present during their wife’s childbirth will be sharing their experiences for the first time in this program. There is a law that says husbands can be present during childbirth but most of them do not know that such a law exists. We will be creating awareness about this too," reiterated the Director of Parenting Network.

"This program is scheduled at Poppys Hotel on May 12 from 12 pm-5 pm. We expect more than 200 people to participate in this event. Rs.800 has been fixed as the registration fee for the program and Rs.650 for those who register before May 9," she added.
