Though, the heat wave conditions have subsided in the Kongu belt, in an unfortunate incident a school boy from Pollachi who came to visit his grand parents in Perur, Chettipalayam died allegedly due to heat wave.
Gunasekaran is working as a day labourer in Pollachi. On Monday, he came to Coimbatore to leave his son Sivakarthikeyan (15) at his grandparents place at Perur Chettipalayam here.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Sivakarthikeyan fainted suddenly when he was playing in an open ground at Perur. Though the neighbours rushed him to Coimbatore GH, the doctors declared him brought dead.
The Perur police have filed a case regarding this and commenced enquiry. The death of a 15-year-old boy allegedly due to sunstroke has created shock among the public.
The state government has advised the people, especially children and the elderly not to venture out between 12 noon and 4 pm and avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
