The Nilgiris: Film director and Chief of Tamil Perarasu Katchi, Gowthaman stated that massive protests will be held against the Central Government for removing tribals from the forests.

"The Central government is trying to remove Irular, Kurumbar and other tribes from the forests. By stressing to close Hindustan Photo Films and open a hospital in its place and reduce production in Aruvankadu Cordite Factory to hand it over to private owners, the government can be seen as having its own plans.

They excuse their motives by stating that it is to improve the employment opportunities for people in Nilgiris. But, a massive protest will be held by organizing the people of this area," reiterated Gowthaman.
