The Nilgiris: With Nilgiris experiencing sunny days for the past few days, tourists made a beeline for various tourist spots across the district.

But after a cloudy spell this morning in Ooty and its surrounding areas, heavy rains lashed the region since afternoon. Due to the heavy rainfall, drains were blocked leading to an overflow of water on the roads which caused inconvenience to both locals and tourists.

On the brighter side, it is expected that Nilgiris will not experience water scarcity till the end of this summer, due to the heavy rainfall received in April.
