Supporters of Mayura Jayakumar and VC Manoharan clash at airport

Coimbatore: Tense moments prevailed among the Congress party members at the City airport, as supporters of Mayura Jayakumar, Working President of Tamil Nadu Congress and V.C. Manoharan, District Congress President clashed with each other, as the latter was not permitted to meet the TN Congress President, KS Alagiri who arrived here on Sunday.


Coimbatore: Tense moments prevailed among the Congress party members at the City airport, as supporters of Mayura Jayakumar, Working President of Tamil Nadu Congress and V.C. Manoharan, District Congress President clashed with each other, as the latter was not permitted to meet the TN Congress President, KS Alagiri who arrived here on Sunday. 

The TN Congress President, K.S. Alagiri who arrived at the City airport on Sunday morning was given a warm welcome by Mayura Jayakumar, Working President of Tamil Nadu Congress, V.C. Manoharan, District Congress President, Saravanan, District Secretary and other party cadres. It is reported that while Mayura Jayakumar met KS Alagiri in the waiting lounge, VC Manoharan and Saravanan were not denied permission. 



Irked by the incident, the supporters of VC Manoharan raised slogans against Mayura Jayakumar. Thus leading to a inter party clash at the airport in the presence of the TN Congress President.

The supporters of VC Manoharan alleged that Mayura Jayakumar had purposefully sidelined and embarrassed him.
