Chennai: The efforts of DMK President, M.K. Stalin has helped accommodate the 108 medical college students of defunct Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Medical Sciences (PRIMS), Kanchipuram at government medical colleges in the State.
For no fault of theirs, the 108 medical college students of PRIMS were made to run Hither and thither seeking a response from the State government to fulfil their appeal to grant them seats in appropriate government medical colleges.
Despite directives issued by the court to the State government on December, 13, 2018, the students were made to wait unconditionally for their enrollment in State run medical colleges.
The students appealed to the DMK President MK Stalin to help them in the issue and expedite the process, as further delay could affect their studies. On behalf of the students and their parents, DMK appealed the plight of the 108 students to the TN Chief Secretariat and State Medical Council and requested to do the needful at the earliest.
Following which, all the 108 students have been admitted to government medical college with immediate effect. The students and their families have extended their heartfelt gratitude to DMK President Stalin for his timely intervention in the issue.
