Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, the floor of one of the houses in Ammankulam Housing Board caved in this afternoon.
More than 700 houses are part of the Housing Board built by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board. People living along Valankulam were allotted houses there.
Kitaal, an elderly lady lives in housing block 628 at Ammankulam. Unexpectedly, the floor of her living room caved in up to 3 feet this afternoon, leaving residents of that block running helter-skelter in panic. The residents were evacuated from their houses fearing the building would collapse.
Upon information, the Housing Board officials rushed to the spot and are presently repairing the lady's house. It is also reported that the Housing Board officials have told people to refrain from sharing pictures of the caved in area.
