Nilgiris : The district administration and officials at the Government Botanical Garden in Ooty have decided to create a 'Selfie Spot' at the gardens which resembles a 'Flower Butterfly' that has been created with 15,000 flowers. The Selfie Spot has caught the eyes of thousands of tourists who are making a beeline to click a selfie at the spot.

The Selfie Spot has caught the eyes of thousands of tourists who are making a beeline to click a selfie at the spot.
It is estimated that over 3 lakh tourists throng the Queen of Hills, during summer. To attract tourists, the Annual Flower Show, Vegetable Show, Fruit Show and Rose Garden Flower Show are held every summer, jointly by the District administration and the Horticulture and Tourism Department of Nilgiris. But this year, since the electoral code of conduct is still in place in the District, the District administration has announced the cancellation of all other programs except for the 123rd Flower Show at the Ooty Botanical Garden and the Fruit Show at the Coonoor Sim's Park.
To compensate for the cancellation of the Rose Garden Flower Show, the administration decided to create a 'Flower Butterfly' selfie spot at the Government Botanical Garden in Ooty, instead.
