Son of Cashier of Martin group urges to probe his father's mysterious death

Coimbatore: Palanisamy (42) who has been working as a cashier in Martin's Homeopathy College here was found dead under mysterious circumstance, near a pond in Velliangadu which comes under the Karamadai forest jurisdiction on Friday.

His body which was kept at the Mettupalayam government hospital was handed over to his family, this afternoon.

Palanisamy's son, Rohin along with his relatives have expressed shock and urged a probe citing that Palanisamy was forced to commit suicide.

Speaking on this, Rohin said that "Palanisamy was under the scrutiny of Income tax officials for the past two days. He was subjected to immense pressure by the officials. One of the official even assualted him during a raid at his residence".

He also alleged that they feel suspicious on three other people who are co-workers of his father. Hence, they urged that a post-mortem examination should be conducted in the presence of higher officials to ascertain the truth behind his father's death.

However, it is speculated that Palanisamy could have comitted suicide fearing further interrogation by the IT officials.

On April 30, the IT officials conducted a series of raids at 'lottery king' Martin's residence and his offices across the country. 20 offices in Coimbatore including his residence and Martin Homeopathy College was subjected to raid.

The officials also interrogated the staff and workers at his offices. Palanisamy, who was working as a cashier at Martin Homeopathy College was also interrogated for the past two days by the IT officials.

On May 2, he was released by the IT officials. And, on May 3, Palanisamy was recovered dead at Velliangadu.
